I was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and made the journey to Hampden-Sydney College in 2018. I am a Government and Foreign Affairs Major with a Minor in Rhetoric with a hope of working in Government and Public Affairs upon graduating. Christian

I was born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia. I am a senior at Hampden-Sydney College who is currently completing a major in Business & Economics along with a Rhetoric minor. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, getting active, sailing, hunting, fishing, and cooking. Elijah

I am from all over the East Coast (New York, Virginia, Florida, the Bahamas), but most recently Virginia Beach, VA. Currently an English Major and Creative Writing Minor at H-SC, I enjoy birdwatching, reading, and writing poetry. Dr. Claire Deal

Born and raised on the Georgia coast, I still consider myself a "Georgia Girl," though my wife and I now live in Farmville, VA. Sharing my love of the southeast coast with students is a privilege, as is learning with them about the rich cultures, histories, and peoples of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor.  When I'm not teaching or doing research, I'm outside -- hiking, sailing, biking, kayaking, backpacking, and reveling in the natural world.

Jordan

I’m originally from New York but currently live in Chapel Hill, NC. I enjoy photography, basketball, being out in nature and hanging with friends. I also play college football. I love meeting new people and trying new things. For my own personal perspective click here.

I'm currently a Senior, from Virginia Beach, VA, studying Government and Rhetoric at H-SC. Spending time with family at home or on the beach makes me who I am. After graduation, I plan on attending law school and pursuing a career in technology law.

Hailing from Pennsauken New Jersey, I’m a senior majoring in English. I consider myself a renaissance man as I often find myself indulging in many mediums of art. Most commonly, I write and record music. I also enjoy photography, videography, poetry,  good films, classical music and now dabble in pottery. I find art to be an expression of my humanity and intrinsic to my 1 of 1 individuality.

I'm from Charleston, SC. I attended Porter-Gaud High School and am majoring in English and minoring in Environmental Science. I have  a deep interest in fly-fishing, sporting clays, and backpacking. The rhetoric of place tied to location is something that influences the way I live .
